Must-Visit Attractions:

Dongji Island:

Bagua Mountain: Located on the north side of Dongji Island’s pier, Bagua Mountain features a brown circular microcline embedded in black columnar basalt. It resembles an eye overlooking the village, guarding each villager. Hence, it’s also known as Dongji’s Eye and serves as the most prominent landmark when entering the harbor. From here, you can overlook Dongji Village, Dongji Pier Harbor, and Chutou Islet.

Cai Village: Despite its name, Cai Village is now a vast grassy lawn. Situated on the northern landmass of Dongji Island, most of Cai Village has been abandoned and overgrown with weeds since the population migrated away. The sprawling green grassland stretches as far as the eye can see, creating a picturesque scene reminiscent of “emerald tofu.”

Japanese Military Site: Located at the northeastern end of the island, the Japanese Military Site marks the endpoint of the cement road. It consists of the remnants of buildings constructed by the Japanese military during the colonial era. Locals also refer to it as “Soldiers’ Quarters.”

Must-Visit Attractions:

Dongyuping:

Seven-Foot Gate Beach: Named after its width of approximately 500 meters, resembling a person’s seven-foot body. The beach is composed of sandstone, sand, and conglomerate rocks, ideal for observing the intertidal zone.

Lavender Forest Coral Reef: A purple stag coral reef sea, a seasonal beauty from April to September. After restoration efforts by the National Park, the Southern Four Islands National Park boasts a remarkably high coral coverage.
